9歲開始學習小提琴,國中三年級通過台灣教育部音樂資優兒童出國甄試,隨即赴美國紐約深造,先後取得曼哈頓音樂學院學士及碩士學位。

在美期間,多次參加音樂比賽、舉辦個人獨奏及室內樂演出,均獲優異成績及好評。包括1988年參加紐約LaGuardia藝術高中協奏曲比賽獲獎,並與學校樂團協奏演出。1989年獲林肯中心室內樂獎並演出於Alice Tully Hall。1993年受林肯中心舉辦之亞洲音樂節邀請,於林肯中心Bruno Walter Auditorium 演出小提琴獨奏及弦樂四重奏。在校期間深受小提琴教授Lucie Robert賞識,並擔任教授於曼哈頓音樂院先修班之助教,因而累積豐富的教學經驗。

回國後,積極參與各類型演出活動。1995年於台南市立文化中心及國家演奏廳舉辦獨奏會。1997年應高雄市立青少年管弦樂團之邀,與中提琴家張乃月合作演出莫扎特交響協奏曲。1998年應靜宜大學邀請,於二二八紀念音樂會中演出獨奏。1995-1999年為台南市立室內樂團樂團首席。1999年應日本廣島縣立文化中心之邀,參與和平紀念音樂會,演出鋼琴四重奏。2007年成立台南獨奏家室內樂團任職團長,同年應台北愛樂邀請,至挪威、丹麥、瑞典之音樂節演出。2009年獲邀參加兩岸共組海峽和平交響樂團,於北京、上海、深圳、台北及高雄巡演。2010年與台南應用科技大學巴洛克樂團合作演出巴赫D小調小提琴與雙簧管協奏曲。2000~2020年為台南市交響樂團首席,並數度合作演出協奏曲。

現任教於台南應用科技大學音樂系及各級音樂班。

Violinist Liang-Chun Chou started learning the violin at age 9. In middle school, the  Ministry of Education in Taiwan recognized her talent for music and honored her dream to study abroad. At age 15, she enrolled in the Manhattan School of Music in New York, USA.  She received her Master's degree in 1995. 

During her stay in NY, Chou won the concerto competition of LaGuardia High School of Performing Arts in 1988.  She was invited to perform at the Lincoln Center several times, including the Tiananmen Memorial Concert and the Asia Music Festival. She earned the Lincoln Center Chamber Music Society Award and performed at Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center in 1989. She stayed in the Manhattan School of Music for nine years and became Prof. Lucie Robert’s assistant of preparatory division, an opportunity that provided her with an excellent training.  Already known as a skilled teacher, many musicians would play for her to hear her opinion.

In 1995, Chou returned to Taiwan and made her solo recital debut. In 1999, she was invited to perform in Japan for the Peace Memorial Concert. From 1995 and 1999, she was the concertmaster of the Tainan Chamber Orchestra.  In 2007, she was invited by the Taipei Philharmonic Orchestra to perform in Norway, Demark, and Sweden. In 2009, she was invited to join the Strait Peace Symphony Orchestra and performed in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Taipei and Kaohsiung.  In 2010, she was invited to perform concerto with the Baroque Chamber Orchestra of Tainan University of Technology.  From 2000 and 2020, she served as the concertmaster of the Tainan Symphony Orchestra and she also collaborated with the orchestra in concertos.

Chou is on the violin faculty of the Music Department at Tainan University of Technology.
